DsShell 2.0 released

A major new version of DsShell, version 2.0, was released last week. Please see the main product page for full details: http://www.oview.co.uk/dsshell, or you can download it direct from these links:

32-bit: http://www.oview.co.uk/cgi-bin/download.pl?url=dsshell/dsshell-2.0-installer-32.msi

64-bit: http://www.oview.co.uk/cgi-bin/download.pl?url=dsshell/dsshell-2.0-installer-64.msi

The previous version of DsShell was v1.4, which was an XP-era shell extension offering basic 'convert to CSV' functionality and support for displaying data set metadata columns in Explorer. Version 2.0 brings DsShell fully up-to-date by adding a preview handler and a property handler, in addition to the data set conversion function.

The preview handler allows you to see your data directly in the Preview Pane in Windows Explorer, without having to load the data set in any other software.

The property handler allows Windows to understand a data set's metadata and include it in all sorts of places, including the Details view in Windows Explorer, the Details pane of the file 'Properties' dialog, the Windows Search database, and more. This is a very powerful addition to DsShell's capabilities.

We hope you enjoy using DsShell and find it useful. Please use this forum to ask any questions, request features or report any bugs or issues.

Thanks,

Chris.
